Risk playbook

How we move a trade idea from a hunch on the chart to a sized, reviewable decision—without slowing you into paralysis.

  1. Frame the context

Name the timeframe, session, and structure you are actually trading. If context is muddy, the idea does not enter the scorecard.

  2. Draw invalidation first

Mark the level that proves the idea false. No entry discussion until that line exists and is visible on the chart.

  3. Measure risk distance

Convert stop distance into account risk units. If the unit exceeds your session band, pass or wait for tighter structure.

  4. Gate with a short checklist

Run five to seven binary checks. Anything that needs a paragraph of judgment belongs in study time, not live.

  5. Review what you planned

After the trade—or the pass—compare planned risk to realized risk and note overrides. Patterns here feed the next lab.
