Risk units beat percent hope

Saying you risk one percent means little if stop placement drifts every session.

Account-risk percentages only work when the stop is honest. Tighten the stop to 'fit' one percent and you have changed the trade, not protected the account.

Treat risk as a unit tied to structure: if the stop must sit further away, size down. If structure is tight and clean, size within the same unit—do not invent a larger bet because the chart 'looks sure.'

Journal columns that record planned risk unit versus realized risk unit make slippage and override visible within a week.

Our Position Sizing Clinic builds that unit from your own charts so the rule survives a noisy Tokyo morning open.
